spring brunch

Hi friends! This weekend I hosted a little brunch party with a few girlfriends and it was such a fun experience that I wanted to share some of the details of the party with you.

My incredible friend is starting her own event planning business and she was such an incredible help throughout the processes helping my vision come to life and taking charge of getting all the flowers ordered. You can check her out on Instagram at @katieh.events.

I really wanted everything to feel very summery and elegant. There were a lot of florals involved and I requested a pink dress code.

To begin the planning process I had fun playing around with different invitation templates on Canva and loved being able to design something that really fit the aesthetic I was going for. Plus it felt so special and fun to actually send invitations to friends rather than putting everyone in a group text.

One of the things that Katie did was design the most beautiful centrepiece for the table. We bought a huge bundle of flowers and she designed all the bouquets and the centre piece using them.

I had so much fun planning the food for the party, of course being gluten-free myself I stuck with a gluten-free meal plan. I also wanted to keep things easy so that the food didn’t have to be sit-down and everyone could walk around and snack on things as they pleased.

I did a fruit platter, whipped cream topping, mini pancake stacks & coffee cake muffins. I also of course had a bowl of boom chicka pop because it’s not a party at my house without some sweet & salty kettle corn.

For drinks I popped my favourite bottle of bubbly & had some blackberry lemonade. It was a delicious combo, or people could stick with just the lemonade if they were looking for a mocktail option.

One other little touch I did that I thought made things really fun was getting a disposable camera for the party. I did the same thing for my birthday party last year and it just captures such sweet memories. Plus, I love having all the photos printed out so that I can put them in a photo album.

I feel so grateful to have such lovely friends. It was such a fun and special day and it was so much fun to host. I definitely plan to do a lot more hosting this summer and I look forward to sharing all of that with you.

I hope this was some helpful inspiration for you if you are planning an upcoming brunch, bridal shower, or baby shower.

XO Cassidy Hannah
