KONA, HAWAII TRAVEL DIARY

As you may have seen over on Instagram, I recently took a family trip to Kona, Hawaii. Today I wanted to share with you a few of my favourite things from the trip.

📍Hapuna State Park

This was one of this first beaches we went to on the island and by far one of the best! The water was super clear and bright blue; everything about it was absolutely stunning. The first trip there was surprisingly empty, but the 2nd trip back was much busier so keep that in mind.

📍Hilton Waikoloa

One of the days we decided to make a day trip to the resort! At the Hilton, day passes can be purchased for $50/person for 10am-5pm access to all the pools, and private laguna. Towel service is included and there’s lots of places to purchase drinks and food as well. Good gluten free options for those curious.

📍Kekaha Kai State Park

This was another one of the most gorgeous beaches I’ve seen in my life. It includes quite a drive to get down to it from the highway but well worth it. There’s lots of space to settle yourself including both shady and sunny areas. I would mention that this beach isn’t as friendly for young swimmers and there’s some rocky areas when heading in and out of the water.

📍Barefoot Zone

I beyond loved this place as it gave me my first crepe experience. It was a dedicated gluten free facility which is amazing news for any of my fellow celiacs out there, and it was absolutely delicious as well. I think it is important to mention that we had nearly an hour wait for out food, so don’t be expecting a quick meal, however the women that work there did warn us ahead of time and said that we could go explore around us and come back for our food which I really appreciated.

Any of these places I would highly recommend checking out if you are heading to Kona in the near future.

Enjoy! XO
