Today I wanted to break down my experience using the Smile Brilliant sensitive teeth whitening kit. They were generous enough to gift me a kit to try out and share with y’all as well as another one to giveaway to you! I wanted to preface before getting into this post that although this kit was gifted to me these opinions are completely my own.
Step 1: The first thing you do with Smile Brilliant is head over to their website and select the kit that is right for you. Your options include the sensitive or non-sensitive lines and then you can choose how many treatments you want to come with your kit. I personally used the sensitive option, and I also found that I generally got between 4-6 treatments per syringe rather than 3 as the website mentions.
Step 2: When I first received my box from Smile Brilliant it included the syringes with the de-sensitizing gel and whitening gel as well as the supplies to make your own whitening trays. This is the first thing about Smilie Brilliant that I thought really set them apart. If you know me at all I am a bigger coffee drinker – I mean multiple cups everyday kinda gal, so I have tried lots of different whitening treatments. I loved that these were in actual trays because I found them less bothersome and could keep them on for longer. I was personally a little concerned about making my trays because I didn’t want to mess them up but it was SO easy. They provide you with step by step instructions and it only takes a couple of minutes. Once you have your teeth imprints all ready to go, you let them sit overnight and then mail them back (in the package they have already provided you!)
Step 3: Within a couple of days of mailing my imprints in I received an email saying that they had got my imprints and were in the process of making my trays. I was assuming that it would be a few weeks before I could actually start my teeth whitening process, however, they were so quick and efficient that I had mine back within about a week and a half. My trays came in a cute little case and it was time to begin the whitening process!
Step 4: Once again there was an incredibly helpful information card in my kit to help with the next part of the process. The first time around I left the whitening gel on for about 45 minutes and then used the sensitivity gel for about 15 minutes afterward. During the actual whitening process I felt a little bit of discomfort, not from the gel but from wearing the trays for the first time, but it was pretty insignificant and only happened the one time. The next morning I was shocked what a big difference just one treatment made and I was so happy to find that I felt absolutely NO sensitivity! After the first whitening session, I continued whitening as regularly as I could and kept the trays on for as long as I had time to ranging anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours (you can keep them on for up to 3 hours!)
I have been so happy with this process overall and will definitely be permanently switching to Smile Brilliant for my teeth whitening. I love the ease that comes with the trays and knowing that I never have to worry about sensitivity the next day.
