As the temperates drop well below freezing and we enter the coldest part of the year, I like to ensure that the products I’m using on a daily basis are helping my skin. Today I am sharing my morning skincare and makeup routine to keep my skin hydrated during these cold winter days. All these products can be shopped HERE.
I start off every morning with my Garnier Micellar Water, my favourite way to use this is on the Makeup Remover reusable cotton rounds.
On days where it is particularly cold, I like the put a base of the Grace & Stella Co. Hyaluronic Acid Serum on my skin to help add extra moisture.
I then go in with my Dr Dennis Gross Stress Repair Face Cream. I have been using this line for the past month now and have been absolutely loving it. The moisturizer is incredibly thick and really helps when my skin is feeling dry.
I follow the moisturizer up with the Dr Dennis Gross Stress Rescue Super Serum. I have been using this as a spot treatment. I find that it really calms any redness or breakouts that I have. I can honestly say I have never used a serum that has as fast-acting results as this one does. I have gone to bed with lots of redness before and had it completely gone in the morning.
Finally, I finish my skincare routine off using the Dr Dennis Gross Stress SOS Eye Cream. This eye serum is so great for preventing my eyes from drying out and helps so much with puffiness & dark circles. It also has a really nice cool feeling upon application that I love!
As for my makeup, I’ve been using my tried and true favourites lately. As for my routine I have been doing my skincare first thing in the morning, however, because I’ve been putting such a thick layer of moisturizing products on I like to let them soak into my skin before applying any makeup.
After about 15 minutes I’ll start with foundation. I typically don’t wear foundation on a daily basis but because this foundation has such a natural finish and gives my skin such a dewy glow I’ve been loving it. I’m going to be perfectly honest I’ve likely had this foundation for way too long & I should pick up a new one, I just love it so much!
If you’ve been following me for a while you know that the benefit concealers have been in my collection for years and are by far my favourite concealers I’ve ever used. I use both the brightening & industrial strength concealer in shade #1!
I then go in with my favourite – the butter bronzer which smells delicious & tropical which is very needed on these cold winter days and brightens up my face a little bit. I typically don’t do any contouring, but I do like to add a bit of warmth and colour.
Finally, to top it off I go in with my monsieur big mascara & NYX epic ink liner. The eyeliner is a new edition to my routine, but I’ve noticed that if done lightly can make my lashes look more full while still looking natural.
