recent empties

Hi there friends! If you have been following along on the blog for some time now, you know that for a couple years, I have been posting empties posts as a way of sharing my thoughts on products I have recently finished. One of my big motivators for doing this was that I wanted to get better at actually finishing products up rather than having too many things on the go at one time.

I did these every few months prior to taking a break from writing blog posts, but this one is a bit of a larger compilation of products. I hope that this either gives you the honest feedback you were looking for about a product or inspires you to try one of my favourites!

I have linked as many of the products as I can here. Anything that couldn’t be linked through the LTK post has been mentioned in the comments of the item.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion – This has been a favourite of mine for so long. I find it goes on so smoothly, isn’t greasy and I love that it has no added fragrance to it. I have never found another body lotion I love as much as this one, with that being said as someone who is allergic to gluten, I am making an effort to be more conscious about not using products with oats in them, so I am officially on the lookout for a new option. For those of you not allergic to gluten, I highly recommend this!

Maria Nila True Soft Shampoo & Conditioner – As much as I loved this shampoo and conditioner – it made my hair feel so soft and smelled SO good – it also has gluten in it. It is a little bit more expensive than what I usually go for, but when the set went on sale I picked it up. My mum borrowed this when she was visiting me & loved it so much that she went and bought it too. Shop the set here.

Monday Moisture Shampoo – I’m a big fan of this shampoo! Not only does it have the cutest packaging, it is a great price point, smells so yummy and it doesn’t contain parabens and sulphates which I try to avoid. I’m working on finishing up a couple other hair products right now but I will be repurchasing this in the future.

Olaplex Hair Perfector – This is one of my favourite hair masks, it makes my hair so soft and smooth afterwards, and I like that it isn’t too thick which makes it really easy to apply. This is another product that I will be repurchasing.

Glow Jar Beauty Fragrance-Free Body Oil – This body oil feels amazing! I wasn’t sure how I would feel about using body oil rather than lotion after a shower but I love it. I put it on without drying my body all the way off and it just really locks in the moisture. I love that there is a fragrance-free option, however, I have repurchased this time with the french vanilla scent. Shop here.

Pacifica Vegan Collagen Body Butter – This body butter isn’t at all what I expected, but I did really like it. It’s got this really thick texture to it that makes it almost look like a balm, but it actually glides on really smooth. It has a fragrance that I cannot place, but it isn’t too strong which I really enjoy. I like the idea of using body products with collagen in them so this is something I would definitely repurchase in the future.

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Scrub – This product wasn’t a favourite of mine. Someone gave it to me as a gift, so it wasn’t a scent that I would choose for myself, but I also didn’t find it to be very exfoliating. I would opt for a different body scrub over this one.

Garnier Smoothing Milky Wash – This is a face wash I have repurchased a couple of times. There isn’t anything about it that is super special to me, but it is a good option. I have recently found other options that I like more than this one though so I don’t know that I would repurchase it again.

Glysomed Hand Cream – I have been using Glysomed for a long time but this was the first time I tried the hand cream in a tub rather than a tube. As far as I’m aware it is supposed to be the same product, but I felt like the tub was a lot thicker and more moisturizing (yay!). The only part I didn’t love is the fragrance of this, it is quite strong and I prefer to buy the unscented one.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray With Aloe, Chamomile & Lavender – I love keeping this face spray in my bedside table, it is so calming and relaxing and feels so nice before bed. I have a couple facial sprays I’m really loving right now but this is one I would buy again.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask – Guys I know you probably see this floating on Instagram all the time but that’s just cause it really is that good. I have been re-purchasing this for years and will continue to do so, however, I have recently switched to buying the vanilla flavour!

Pixi +Rose Essence Oil – The consistency of this product was a bit odd to me, it was quite liquidy and would often separate. With that being said, I thought it made a really pretty base under makeup. I think in the future there are other options I prefer under makeup, but I enjoyed using this while I had it.

Essie Gel Couture Sheer Fantecy – Y’all already know this is my ride or die. I use this nail polish every single day. It is the perfect pinky-nude & lasts so long. I tell everyone I know about it and will probably keep using it forever.

Clinique All About Eyes Rich – I really liked how this eye cream was an actual cream, it was thick and it made it really moisturizing and easy to apply. With that being said, my main concern is dark undereye circles and I didn’t feel like this did much to help with those. I might purchase it again for the winter because it was so moisturizing though.

Viva Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum – I really liked this hyaluronic acid, however, I found that the bottle was so tiny that I was through it really quickly. It is another product that I enjoyed while I used it and would try other Viva products, but don’t feel the need to repurchase right now.

Glow Jar Beauty Luminous Facial Oil – This was such a lovely facial oil. I’m definitely someone who likes to go to bed with my skin glowing & this product does that. Plus I love that Glow Jar Beauty is local. I will be repurchasing this soon! Shop here.

Good Molecules Ulta-Hydrating Facial Oil – I have loved this facial oil for a long time, but I have been finding lately that it is just so small. As I mentioned previously, I like to put face oil on every night before bed & in the morning too when I am going makeup free and I just find that I run out of this too quickly. I would love to see Good Molecules come out with this in a larger option.

Evan Healy Whipped Shea Butter Chapstick – This is the best chapstick ever! I love that it is a little bit larger than usual chapstick and it is so moisturizing. I’ve gotten my mum and so many of her friends hooked on this. I love using a lip mask at night but I keep one of these in my purse and in my car for on-the-go.

Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara – This is by far the best affordable mascara option I have ever found. I have repurchased this a couple of times and will continue to do so once I have used up some of the others I have on the go right now. I find it really buildable and lengthening. Frankly, it works better than a lot of the expensive mascaras I have tried.

Nars Laguna Bronzer – Y’all I do not know what it is about this bronzer but it is pure magic. I somehow ended up with two of the travel sizes, this being the first and the second currently in my makeup drawer, but I assure you I will be purchasing the full size in the future. It is the perfect warm glow with just a touch of glimmer. I cannot say enough good things about it. I understand what the hype is for.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post! I absolutely love writing these and sharing my thoughts on products with you. If you have used any of these, be sure to tell me what you thought or if you have any recent empties you loved and think I should try, I would love to hear about those as well. Until next week…

XO Cassidy Hannah
